Woohoo! I just got off the phone (AGAIN!) with Andrea at customer service, and got this clarification on the Status of your order.

"Pending Shipment":
Means unit is out of stock or one isn't allocated to your order.

"Has Products Pending Shipment"
Means unit is in stock and one is allocated to your order. it's just waiting to ship out.

This makes sense as to why we've been seeing order status fluctuate between these two values.

Hope that helps some of you out there. I was told my order should ship soon, "sometime within the next week". I ordered in the evening of Dec. 28th (CST).

i ordered on the 23rd and my status is "complete" but under details instead of tracking# it says "has not shipped yet"
is this a good or a bad sign?

Not to burst your bubble, but the two people I talked to have both said that they two are the same.

Meanwhile I have a 10g that is and always has been "Has product pending shipment" and a 20 gig that has flip-flopped back and forth between the two. Now Its back to "has product..."

One can only hope and keep their fingers crossed.

Yeah.. my order for a 20gb model that I placed on the 30th keeps flipping back and forth between "pending shipment" and "has product"...

Sonicblue has the absolute worst inventory management and support staff I have ever dealt with...

Not to mention that if the phone queue is full, it drops you like a hot potato.. they must have a queue of size two.

What size did you order? I ordered a 30 GB the morning of the 28th and my order status has not changed. Now I am getting nervous, this is driving me nuts.

I talked to Tammy a moment ago. She couldn't really tell me anything or do anything for me. Apparently I am in the queue for the 30GB models. I couldn't change it to "first available", and she couldn't tell me how many of the 215 they had this morning were 30GB models.

Was anyone you talked to at SB able to actually do anything for you? Or were they just able to tell you what you can find out online?

Status just changed to "Complete" and I got a Tracking Number! The tracking number doesn't work yet, and I know a lot of shipments have been screwed up . . . but what a relief!

By the way, for those who are still waiting, I ordered a 30GB the morning of the 28th . . .

I ordered the afternoon of 12/28 as well and just received shipping confirmation. Still waiting for it to get into Fedex's database though. Here's hoping SB isn't so screwed up they say they're shipping when they really aren't. But I'm optimistic.

My order of the 28th shipped too!

Why you are not in the database yet is simple. FedEx doen't have the package. The warehouse has packaged and affixed a shipping label to the box. Short of the box being destroyed on the way to FedEx, you order is safe.

Still waiting... I feel like an expecting father in the hospital waiting room.
